Well it's official Fiat has bought out all of the remaining stock of Chrysler and now owns it outright which means it is no longer a U.S. company.

So looking at the positive side, if you own a Chrysler product you should be holding not only piece of history but some of the most valuable metal on the planet.

I intend to prove to the world that my Plymouth and all Chrysler products are worth more now than ever. I don't care how much that camero sold for at barret jacksons, a gtx or roadrunner or cuda or valiant or anything eels should be automatically worth twice as much!

Hoorah Chrysler!

The news said the u.s lost about a billion and a half on the deal...
Oh well they will just print out more cash huh?

Ahhhhhh globalbism, isn't it great! It's a carefully planned destruction of the USA.

Yeah, right:icon_rolleyes: Ask the Oldsmobile and Pontiac guys how that has doubled their cars prices.

lol, well at least we can tell the cheby boys we are worth more it sounds good.

Does that mean we can now put a Dodge emblem on a Ferrari? Which is also owned [90%] by Fiat? The general hope on the factory floor, is that Fiat comes through and that the floors in Auburn Hills run red with the blood of the worthless ******** who were promoted off the factory floors so they could do less damage from a dead-end office!!!!! The rank and file hope for a thorough house-cleaning of upper, and middle management! The management at the plant level refuses to hire anyone smarter than themselves. This results in a generational "dumbing-down" of all new management hires! If Sergio acts as he speaks, then the rank and file are behind him. We are poorly managed and in desperate need of leadership. Nobody comes to work to do a bad job, that only happens when leadership fails them!

At least it was Fiat and not a Chinese company. My company got bought up too by a Europeon company a few years ago. Things have actually gone quite well in the company. They can't really close our plants because their labour / operating costs are as high if not higher. I think Chrysler needs Fiat, they don't have 1 good compact vehicle in their lineup. What are they smoking?? Have they seen the the gas prices! Hello!!!
I gotta replace my daily driver 99 neon soon (55 min drive each way to work). I'm actually considering buying a Furd Focus or Fiesta. Unless they come out with something really good next year.

A Fiat 500 Abarth with a R/T stripe?

prices

why would the prices be worth now that all the stockholders sold out.:hello2:

Caliber's are nice, but not that great on gas, worse than a 300hp v6 Mustang.

It seems like two different sets of engineers at work, the group that brought minivans and back doors for trucks to the world, and then the group that lets the competition build better minivans and put back doors on their small trucks before we even think about doing that. New minivans SUCK, new intermediates have no character. New Durango is a Mercedes :( , new Ram will be a Nissan :( Just when Camaro converibles roll out, Challenger vert is killed. that Fiat 500 has a funny loking rear. Would have liked it better if it looked more tike the original. Oh, and current RAM is a killer truck, but gets poor press or no press at all why?**Special note to Mopar/Fiat engineers- MORE HEADROOM for tall guys!!!!! You used to have the most!!

Bravo,Scott! VERY well stated;I see it everyday in the GM plant I'm in. I've also seen it for 34+ years. This also, sadly, goes for our union as well. What does the rank and file get? The crappy end of a short stick. We've learned to wear gloves for a better grip...

Here's a valid question: What will become of Ma's performance parts group(s)? The Italians are masters of foundry and casting work(check out a Ferrari sometimes);perhaps they would realize that there is an growing market still out there, and continue to offer what's available now. Maybe even improve the casting quality-or create new products;I would not mind seeing an aluminum Stage IV type head, with an OEM/stock appearance to it,but good ports/chambers/etc. Any thoughts, folks? Will these designs(patents) become available for the aftermarket to snatch up,or will Fiat let them proverbially wither on the vine, and decrease/cease production?

The Italians/Fiat Corp. has only 52% majority stock, not all of the stock! They only bought out the U.S. Govt. share of stocks & repaid the remaining $5.9 BILLION owed, so the U.S. Govt. no longer has any controlling share in the Auburn Hill, Michigan based Company (Still) they are in negotiations for the 1.6% share the Canadians Govt. own also... They don't own Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram Trucks outright just majority share holder... I just wanted to clarify the facts... That seem to be miss-stated all over the forums...

A few months ago they gave all the employees these buttons that said "PAID" when they announced the loan repayment to the Feds at our plant. All us skilled trades said "Thats a funny way to spell 'RE-FINANCED!'" Al K, fortunately, our new masters are actually quite impressed with the Mopar Parts Division, and Mopar Performance! It is staying and WILL be a supported part of our future!
You know what I'd like to see.....the contract for the Italian auto workers union. There is NO WAY that you can convince me that they work harder than us!!!!

Scott;that's good to hear(the parts situation). You ought to see the German's contracts;they make the UAW look like the pacifists they are. Interesting thought: Some of the most desirable cars in the world-from a normal "production" standpoint-are Audi,M-B,and BMW. ALL built in Germany by members of the strongest workers unions in the world. Yes folks;I'm aware of the non-unionized American plants down south for these companies;do a little checking into the quality of the cars from these plants. They've got some issues. A whole 'nother topic for another time. At GM;it's still all about the "productivity" and "compliance":tied up: rather than the quality of the product.

I'll step off the soapbox...

Al, I'm with ya bro! So, unions are ok in their countries, but not in ours? Guess we are Mexico, to the germans and japanese! Yeah, I guess we are getting off-topic here, but ain't no one bitching. Maybe the rest of them are interested enough in what really happens in the industry, and just want to hear what us Detroit Dogs have to say? I'll tell ya right here! Chrysler made the "Trail-Rated" Liberty in the early 2000's. And they had massive failures of the front-end ball joints. Those things weren't built by my co-workers, we just put them on. We made, and installed ball-joints for nearly a hundred years, no problems!!! Accountants subbed that out to the lowest bidder! Henry Ford kept stuff in-house to control everything! The accountants figured the anticipated failure rate and said that if it was excessive, we can back-charge the supplier. That all sounds good on a spreadsheet, but when you are on the side of the road, you are not cursing the supplier, you are cocksuckering the name on the HOOD!
