Finally its home. 1967 Coronet 500 2 door hardtop

Great looking ride
That is the color scheme my wife picked out for the 66 we just picked up

The color combo and the factory air part is why I bought it.

I am convinced the car is a legit 61k mile car.
The original spare is still in the trunk , a 7.75-14 Good year Power Cushion whitewall

Nice '67. Sounds like it's in good hands. Drive the wheels off it, with the a/c blowing cold, all summer long.

Keep the spare away from a tire store... They will attempt to take it and destroy it as its "unsafe"....

Oh i wouldnt dare try to use it.

Car will get a newer radial tire for spare.

I understand that but thought you would want to keep it for braggin rights.... I have had some friends deal with spare problems at tire stores lately

I would think a 1967 Coronet would have come from the factory with 14" rims and tires, unless optioned with something else. Tire code on build sheet or fender tag would tell.

Its a 7.75-14 Goodyear power cushion whitewall tire

On my green 67 GTX unrestored car the original 775-14 red line tire is still in the trunk unused. It has no dry rot. It will stay there. Up until about 6 months ago, I still drove it on red line tires that were installed in 1979. They had no dry rot, but the fronts were worn on the inside due to failing lower control arm bushings. I rebuilt the lower control arms and replaced all 4 tires at that time. I pay for road service on my insurance, so if I have any kind of trouble that I cannot address on the road a flat bed transport will take it home.

Very VERY nice.
Im currently doing a cleanup and detail under the hood . Along with a front suspension rebuild ( ball joints bushings etc etc )

Getting the ac operation is next
I just had mine at the tire shop on Friday for inspection. Steering and suspension inspection was good but found a fluid leak at the pump. Replacing the shocks next week.

I'm afraid mine has snowballed beyond that. ,,,Just a little bit lol

I was down to the engine alone in the eng. compartment. When I found a freeze plug leaking in the pass side head.
I was bellhsg bolts away from just lifting it out a make said plug A LOT easier.

So , here we are.
It gets sit back in today.

Man, you are really moving along. The only thing I've managed to do on improvements is wash it and replaced a few light bulbs. You're making me feel like quite the slug, hahaha.

Thanks.

But Arizona summer is coming. ,,,,,quickly
I bought this car because it has A/C . So I want to take advantage of that and give my Satellite a rest for a bit this summer

I love this car. I would have to agree with the condition this is in, it would be showing original mileage. Very cool find and glad it went to a good home. Engine is looking good as well. Where are you picking up the condenser from?
I hope to do a road trip sometime like Hawkrod is doing now. I'd like to see these 2 cars in person.
My shop is getting closer to being done and ready for project work to begin. I can't wait to get the brakes sorted on my 66. Keep at it, can't wait to see the finished product.
