Well, after some really bad news about the 440 in my 74 RR, and a month of research choosing between a crate engine and a custom built one I ordered my crate engine from CME this morning, thanks to another 8" of snow and some free time, lol. I ordered the 522cu/525hp with upgraded roller cam, flywheel and 6 pack option. All in with me sending them my dist., wires and hold down complete engine with dyno $10,470.00. Very excited can't wait to match w/my 4 speed. Hurry up spring.

thats awesome! doesn't seem like a bad price either. what made you decide on CME? I can't wait for the day that I am ready to order mine. Did you ever consider a 2 4 barrel hemi? I haven't decided which way I'm gunna go yet.....6 pack or hemi

I went with CME because of their reputation after much research, I have a six barrel in my road runner now and love it so it was an easy decision to go with the 6 barrel. Plus it looks great.

I got a buddy in Ohio that ordered an engine from CME in July of 2013. They told him 6 to 8 weeks to build it. He got it in January. Be prepared to wait.

I ordered the same engine and received it last month

Here's the link to my thread if you want to see a bit of the info on mine

Agreed with Raz.... I was also told 6-8 weeks and it took 6 months... I had expected and planned for that though after reading others experiences though and was 100% satisfied even with the wait.

Well, I decided to get a time for engine build in writing or my money back, we will so how that works out.lol.

Good plan, Hope everything works out on schedule. If you have any questions about mine or my experience shoot me a PM... I chose to go with the QF 780 and MSD ignition they recommend

I have a hard time understanding why people on the east coast don't contact the site sponsor MRL and say, "Hey Mike, this is my budget, what can you do for me?" You think you're gonna get something better from CME? I've see Mike's stuff and I've seen crate engines.

people just dont understand mikes work or dont know

Well, I ended up going to a local shop and have my existing 440 rebuilt and am using my existing 6 barrel set up, he matched the cme estimate but with a roller cam kit and roller rockers. I called MRL twice with no answer and was concerned about someone answering the phone if I had a problem.
