Happy Saturday everyone. Got my car out of the garage for the first time in years. Had to wash it, even though it don't run yet. Last things to do is drain the fuel tank, replace a u-joint, find money for a battery, lol. image.jpgimage.jpg

That looks like a post car, nice! Better get a battery into that girl, those clouds might have you needing to get back up that driveway in a hurry!

Thanks for the compliments. It's suppose to storm this evening lol. Doesn't look like I'm going to get that lucky. But I can drain the gas tank while it rains. I use to drive it on post back in 2003. My story is on my welcome wagon on why I haven't drove it in 12 years. Sad story.

Very cool car , don't get a ticket for a non runner in the driveway ,like one of the other guys on here got a ticket for changing his plugs in his driveway.
Good luck

Hello mopar family, good news is I got the sending unit installed and the gas tank remounted. I got off work today and put 5 gallons of fresh gasoline in there. Bad news is i cant get any fuel up to the Carb or even to the fuel filter. Is there a secret to getting the fuel pump sucking fuel from the tank and pumping up to the carb? everything is dry.

The old gas in the fuel line may have varnished (hardened).

May want to replace all of the rubber hoses, if they crack and suck air, it won't prime. That is if the rubber diaphragm in the pump is still working. Also try filling the carb float bowl with fuel thru the vent, it will run on the carb and be more likely to suck fuel than just cranking alone.

I never posted a update. I ended up having to replace the gas tank. It sat for two many years. The local radiator shops said they don't clean then anymore because of some new environmental issues. A new tank wasn't that expensive and I knew I had clean fuel after that. My friend bought me a battery in exchange for putting on his lift kit. Lol.

Congratulations man. This fall I took my perfectly running car off the road for a motor swap. Even though it should be relatively quick, still hurts to have her out of commission. Enjoy!!!

Good to see the old girl back on the road! Sounds good.
