if you get a flat tire on a 3 axle wheel race trailer and you have no spare which tire can you eliminate.:icon_surprised:
i just got a flat and used the spare and dont have another one and i have to get to the track tomorrow. its do or die for racing this coming weekend to get my 65 black dodge out.:hello2:
what are my options if i get another flat without a spare.:violent-smiley-100:

Obviously you want the axles with brakes to have good tires on them.

Tri-axle set-up...
The center axle. The outer axles keep the center axle suspension centered in relation to the them.
Ever see a tandem axle trailer with a tire missing? You will notice the equalizer will be banging on the frame.

can you go without the center tire or front or rear for a short period of time. anyone?????

I have a triple axle trailer and I took both of the front wheels off. 1 because it ate up tires running all 6, and 2 because it was a pain in the *** to back the trailer up with all 6, and three because I never pull enough weight to require all 6 wheels. My axles are independent though, I'm not sure how well that would work on a tandem set up if that's what you have. My trailer is rated for 12k pounds with all 6 wheels. it never see's anywhere near that. And if all else fails, Most trailers are the 4 1/2 on 5 bolt pattern. I've used the wheels off of the dodge several times as temp spares. good luck.

I would say center tire, what are you towing it with if it is 3/4 ton or one ton [non dually] your your spare from your truck will fit [if the trailer is 8 lug or if your truck is 6 lug and the trailer wheels are 6 lug also then the same applys] most trailer lug patterns are the same as car/truck patterns.

Yep, center axle.

If you remove the front or rear it throws off the weight distribution (hitch weight)

I would agree on the removal of the tires on the center axle. The tongue weight has to be all out of wack with the front tires off, That is a pretty good distance from the center of the center axle to the tongue. If you want to leave the front tires off back the car on the trailer and the bulk of the weight would be over the two axles left.

You would probably need to analyse how the trailer suspension works and make the best decision based on that. It's also possible the missing tire would drastically affect the load carrying ability of that side thus making the remaining two tires work harder, and for that I would drive slower than usual to avoid excessive heating of the tires. This reply is probably coming along after the fact so I'm sure we all want to know how you made out.
