Does anyone know where I can obtain a rebuild kit for this floor jack? I called the manufacturer direct, and the representative that I spoke with informed me that the company discontinued the rebuild kit.

It has been in the family for over 20 years and has a lot of sentimental value.

Thanks guys!

I had some jacks that were left to me by my uncle, good ones. I couldn't find kits for them either. after sitting around my garage for a couple years, I gave in and got rid of them, and bought a new one from HF.

Unfortunately, in this disposable society there is virtually nothing that is worth rebuilding, or, that you can rebuild any more.

All depends on the innards, if its Hein Warner, etc, its worth doing. If its Chinese, pitch it...

What's it doing? Is it leaking or just doesn't work? If the jack is leaking or doesn't work because of a seal or O-ring you might be able to find a generic part at the local auto parts or hardware store. If a major part like hydraulic cylinder is shot then that's another story. You don't really have anything to lose to tear it apart to see what's wrong with it.

Check with a shop that rebuilds cylinders for heavy equipment.

I had a snap on jack given to me from a body shop only thing wrong was the breather hole was pluged.Imagin that!!

Good advice here in this thread. There may not be a kit listed for your application but if you do a little homework and research you can probably get the correct seals. If it's been around for as long as you say its probably not low quality chinesium.

Take it apart and take the seals to a shop that works on hydraulic cylinders. They usually have books listing seals by size and type and should be able to find a suitable replacement.

great advice Mark

Try searching your area for a hydraulic repair shop and they will have the parts to rebuild it. You will have to pay them to rebuild it most likely.

X2 on that . . . got a nice jack from a NASCAR shop that sold out their stuff . . . one of the bolts was missing and the joint to release the jack was broken. They fixed both of them for me for $25.

And after talking to them, they said the seals in them are junk, if they can replace them with American Made parts the jacks will hold up much longer !

I took my jack to the local Hydraulic Services - they had cylinders there that were bigger than me ! ! ! ( and I kept the business local too )
