Floor Shifter length

I am installing an A-518 46RH into my 68 coronet with a 2004 5.7 hemi. when i bought the car, it was just a shell so I was not able to take measurements.
I was looking at the Lokar shifter as well as all the linkage i need from Lokar.

My questions is what is the length of the shifter I need to order? from the floor to the knob?

I do not currently have a console. I was thinking I would get one made to fit.
I am also open to other companies other than Lokar.

any help or advise would be appreciated.

I originally ordered the 10 inch shifter but found that it was too long. ended up ordering the 8 inch and it was a much better fit. Note this was the floor mount system. They also make one that fits on the tail shaft. If you decide to go with the floor mount system let me know, I have since converted to Manual and would sell the whole setup at a highly discounted price.

The complete lokar floor mount shifter kit for 727. No plate or boot, they sell those separately I installed it when I swapped out factory steering column with an aftermarket floor shift unit. At some point in the project I decided to go with a manual so I ripped it all out. Aside from being previously installed and used for moving the car in and out of the shop the unit is basically new. I would take 175 for it + shipping. You may or may not have to buy a new threaded rod for the linkage depending on where you mount it since I have already trimmed the factory piece. This of course can be sourced at most hardware stores for a couple of bucks.

any chance the leaver and knob are black? im looking for a black one. I dont really want any chrome on the car.

No the handle is polished and the knob is anodized aluminum. I get you though, when I initially bought mine I wanted the blacked out one but couldn't justify the extra 70 or 80 bucks they were asking for the midnight series. There about the same price for both now.

I recently spoke with Lokar for my 69 charger 727 trans , went with what they recommended for my set up and did not like anything about it , hard to install and get adjusted , did not fit around kick down linkage well and as far as the way it shifted hated it , I took it out right away and install B & M quick silver shifter and love it , I have it in factor console with small modifications to console ,
