Erie K1 class 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotive # 2544, is seen at Spring Valley, New York, 04-18-1953

The S1 was a 6-4-4-6.
VERY unusual to have 6 wheel lead and trailing trucks.

PRR never owned a 4-8-4, which were extremely popular on other roads, and arguably the pinnacle development of "practical" reciprocating stream road power.

They also had a 6-8-6 steam turbine, the S2.
