so what does the sa stand for mine say 3447sa with a b3 below that ?

Yours are of a Max wedge 426 ..they where manufactured February 1963.

3447 carbs are as follows :
Max Wedge 413 S from May 62 to July 62
Max Wedge 426 SA from September 62 thru May 63

Looking at that valve cover, it reads 426 stage III Guess I'm missing something here.
