Irwindale Track

Yep heard they lost all their funding or went bankrupt.

Did they close the new Irwindale track now too ?, Damn, I was referring to the old original Irwindale Raceway in my post... Did they shut down the roundy rounder track also ?... Another one I thought of was San Meigle {spelling}

Yep I know that, not enough room for 1/4 mile & shut down area, the original was a 1/4 mile, at least I think it was, I was a young kid last time I was there probably near 40 years ago.... the question is.. But is the new Irwindale 1/8 mile drag strip, circle track & figure 8 track, {I think it was Toyota Racing Backed} facility shutting down now too ?? It was built were the old gravel pit was wasn't it ??

That Im not sure of, I just heard of the drag strip being shut down, which was a bummer due to the fact they turned the cars around faster then Fontana could.

I need to check it out maybe... I Googled Irwindale dragstrip news, it said they are canceling Thursday night drags, it also said they had a average of 1500+ fans & 200+ cars ever Thursday, sounds like enough to keep the gates open, I wonder what the complete story/deal is ??, The article also said Fontana is being reviewed buy the courts already... I wonder if it will even survive ??, I guess Roger Penske still is the man there, he should get involved politically maybe....

I hope they reopen fontana. Maybe I heard wrong about Irwindale, I know they move cars through very quickly, I know when fontana went under new managment finally got rid of the women in charge, they took the crew to Irwindale and said if they can't get the cars through like Irwindale they would be let go. Things were getting better but now this. Guess we shall see
