I was looking for old Quaker City Raceway Pictures today and I found this. This is our car before we owned it.
I've never seen this photo before today.

Then and now.

The 64 HT in the back ground of the 2015 photo was painted by the same guy who painted our car in the 1st photo.

Greg of Akron. He painted all of Arlen's cars.

That's one cool paint job. Too bad it was re painted. I've heard of Greg of Akron. I guess he was pretty famous in his day.

I personally like it better now. Let me know what you find out about the motor.
Doug

Thanks for the comments guys.
Dad bought this car in 86 as a roller and that is what it looked like. He bought it off of a local guy to us, Ben Bertok who bought the car for the motor :icon_elephant:. The kid Ben bought the car off of was from Kent Ohio area and he drove it on the street, which is who probably owned it when this picture was taken.
It sat around for about 12 years before he had enough money to get a motor together..... to sum it up, I was married and out of the house and my sister graduated college. LOL
By the time he got around to building the car the cowl was rusting and there were some other bad spots, not to mention the paint was getting pretty rough in some spots and a the time he didn't know who Greg was and how to get a hold of him. SO he had it painted white. I guess I'm part to blame... I couldn't handle the spiders :spider: and butterflies air brushed on the car, It was pretty wild.
Who would have known that the old paint jobs would get popular again.... hell he sold the Fenton wheels also. :BangHead:

Doug,

Congratulations on the two wins this weekend! You are the man.... You're loving Quaker City, I'm waiting for you to move down here so you can race there on a weekly bases, lol. Damn, you've won at least 1 day every year for the past 3 years.
Wish I could have been racing. I'll let you know what I find when I pull the pan, I'm sure the bearings are toast I just hope the crank isn't hurt.

Very cool ! Ron

Cool old late 60's early 70's paint vibe...
