Any time I see a car completely in primer, my alarm bells go off.
Magnets are a big help for cars in primer IMO......and a wet down also helps to see things.Any time I see a car completely in primer, my alarm bells go off.
For sure, or a spot-rot gauge, and go over every time-consuming inch.Magnets are a big help for cars in primer IMO......and a wet down also helps to see things.
What Dave said......and wouldn't hurt to start a WTB ad.Good afternoon. I've decided that I'm going to get my R/T' s bodywork and paint done and all the trim reinstalled. I know I'm missing one of the side R/T emblems (drivers side) and missing the Dodge letters that go on the trunk. Outside of looking on Ebay, any ideas of where I can find some of those items? Are there any Reproductions out there for sale? Also will need the backseat rear carpet so any sources on interior stuff would be good as well. Thanks in advance. Russell
You searched for hood letters - Vans AutoThe trunk lid and hood letters are being reproduced. Someone on here had them for sale for $50 per set. You could also try Classic industries. The big side R/T sign is very similar to the '69 Charger Stripe Delete rear quarter panel sign, which I think is reproduced as well.
1967 letters had Black paint fill, while '68 had White. As far as I can understand, not all of the trunk letters are the same in the Coronet model line. Fairly certain I found out about that at least 20 years ago.
I am talking about the part numbers on the letters in 67. Sent some to Lloyd Gopseil (sp)some years ago. He has since passed on. Think he new John Borris quite well. Travelled a bit with Richard Wright who has the black 67 Hemi car with flames, they were in Bloomington for the Charger30th, and Richard was at the 50th in Detroit.1967 letters had Black paint fill, while '68 had White.
Are you by chance referring to the 440 letters that are in the trunk panel on a 440 model versus the letters that mount directly to the lid on a 500 and R/T?I am talking about the part numbers on the letters in 67. Take my hat off to him. He has DRIVEN that car to California.
Somehow I think he had some problems at the 50th. He didn’t get in with the display area for some reason. Thank you for the pictures. Still have his card.Twice. Plus Hot Rod PowerTour

Scoop should be body colour.Good morning. At the start of the year, I'll be taking my 67 RT over to have some of the minor body work done and to have it repainted. Based on the Fender Tag (see attached), believe the original color is called "Bright Red". My questions are: 1. The RT Scoops on the hood appear to be a matte black finish. Is it correct for them to be that color or should they be color matched to the rest of the car? 2. Under the hood, the color is mostly the Bright Red but there are some spots that are black. Should the underside of the Hood and inside the fender wells all be the same as the exterior color? Thanks in advance for your information.
