What is the distance between the top of the front shock towers supposed to be?
Great, that helps. How about the distance between the edge of the flat shelf above the shock towers and the same edge on the other side. I mean the flat part that the VIN tag screws down to. Standing in front of the car and looking to the rear those flat shelfs are supposed to be a straight edge. Mine are warped. My car is apart. I'll go measure hole center to hole center in the shock bolt holes.
It's close to 34 1/4" but I would call it 34 5/16" to be exact.
Great! Thanks pal, that's perfect. New inners seem to be straight along that edge but I could be mistaken. I just wanted to see if mine were out of true by a lot or a little. And whether it was both or one side. I have a frame dimension diagram with measurements from the floor up and criss cross from the access holes for squaring up. Thinking ahead to having costly tires on the front and not wearing them out in funny patterns. On the top of the flat exactly where it stops the rounded edge.........
Front by rad support 43 1/4"
Directly above shock holes 43 1/2"
Back end of inner fender 44"
The inner does have a bow to it as it goes back from the shock tower. Don't know if you can see it in these pics. Forgive the dust!

It looks like the one between the top shelfs above the shock mounts is about 3/16ths to narrow. Not worth straightening out IMO. The rest are right on. Not as bad as I feared.Great!
