As if no other states have “dicks” that steal. Pennsylvania has idiots too!

Seems Commiefornia wears the crown theft!

Some thief stole a 6 pack air cleaner off a car in the show field at The Nats a few years back. Frickin' piece of **** of a human being!

No doubt! That sucks! Fortunately I have not run into much of this over the years. Even when buying parts from members on this and other Mopar sites. I have had several thousands of dollars sent out to people and always got my parts. I even traded whole Chargers with a member on Moparts, sent my car with all the parts to Texas, and didn't receive my Charger and parts back for more than a month due to shipping logistics and everything went good and was as described! One time while vending at Carlisle I thought that someone stole a dual point distributor off me,but a year later I found it under the seat of my truck, I guess when we were packing up one of my friends must have put it in the truck! I did remember Mike Ross from BE&A telling me that he was all done vending at Carlisle because things got crazy busy and several items disappeared from the display tables when he and his crew were assisting customers! He said not just a couple of things but a lot of things! It sucks that there are scumbags involved in out hobby! Sorry to hear about it happening to Dave! What kind of ******** would rip off Freiburger?

Years ago, I remember reading about a show where a guy was stealing fender tags from cars, and got caught red-handed by the owner of a numbers-matching '71 440+6 Challenger. The owner beat the hell out of the guy and broke four of the thief's fingers. I'd love to find that article. This was pre-interwebz, maybe '92 or so.

Dicks. Yeah, certainly sounds like California.

You speak from experience

Pittsburgh crime rate

Pittsburgh, PA crime analytics. With a crime rate of 39 per one thousand residents, Pittsburgh has one of the highest crime rates in America compared to all communities of all sizes - from the smallest towns to the very largest cities. One's chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime here is one in 25

Which is a shame, because when I was in the USAF in the '90s, I had two really fun TDYs to Pittsburgh. We worked with the Reserve unit at the airport. The view from the hill looking down into the city was just beautiful. The people were quite friendly back then.

Fucken' thieving scumbags, all over

too bad you can shoot on sight

So Sorry to hear Frieberger was ripped off like that
(I assume it's at the Pomona/LA Swap meet, freaken' zoo at times)

plenty here too,
that are all transients & transplants, nonnatives, all from points east
east of the Mississippi & north or west of the Ohio River Valley
where 70% of the US's population is

Unfortunately, a % of every community are dirtbags. If you have expensive stuff, it is best to bring a pal who can sit back and watch people for you while you sell. Otherwise, the classic hit is when one guy distracts you while his pal walks off with your stuff.

That sucks.

When I and my friends sell swap bringing a large amount of desirable parts, I make sure to bring extra people to keep an eye on things. Labeling your parts for sale with prices and writing very brief description or titles on boxes minimizes buyer questions and greatly reduces your distractions. And helps the other people you’re with sell parts taking burden off you. So then you have more time to keep you eyes out.

Also, I don't pile multiple items in a box. You've got people rifling through boxes all over your spot. Too much to watch. Too much of an opportunity for bad things. And if you are holding a part for someone, keep that locked in your truck.

I was there yesterday at this Long Beach Swap at 7am. Spectators are let in at 6am. By 7am when I walked by his spot, the whole spot was picked almost completely clean except for a couple boxes with stuff dumped in them.

Frieburger has over 1 million Instagram and Facebook followers. There were people that went to this swap meet just to say hi and get their pictures taken with him. I read a few reply posts on Instagram (out of 800+) from people that had never been to a car swap meet before, but went to this one just to see Frieburger. I heard it was a mob at his spot early in the morning. With all that activity and random-ness, walking off with a set of heads can be plausible.

Houston is real bad for Chevy trucks and trailers. If you ever come through here with a Chevy or trailer and stay at a hotel make sure you put a big cable lock through the wheels and pull your fuel pump fuse at least.

I have a friend who sells items all over the country at fairs, car shows and other events... He will NOT set up anywhere where a collection of Hmong live.... They steal every thing and anything not bolted down.....

Interesting, never heard of him

You’ve never heard of Roadkill or Roadkill Garage? Where have you been hiding out?
