I have a 1969 Satellite that I'm upgrading to front disc brakes. It has a front sway bar which requires the calipers to be mounted to the rear of the disc (i think). If you have done this can you post a few pics as well as how you routed the brake line. Is it possible to install calipers to the front with the sway bar, it looks like it will be hitting? If you have done this please post a couple pictures, thanks. Another question will I need a shorter brake hose if I mount the calipers to the rear ?

I have no pics, as I did this 19 yrs ago. I swapped spindles (L>R)(R<L), and probably just bent the hard line to make it work. I know I didn't get new hoses. I might also have had to dimple the shocks a smidge to clear the calipers. I wish I could tell you more, but it was a while ago, but it does work fine.

A few pics of the disc brake conversion from Ram Man on 68 GTX, hope it helps! Also added tubular upper A arm from Firm Feel which added 3 degrees of positive castor and urethane bushings. I am not a big fan of KYB shocks, but these are new so I will run them a while and evaluate while looking for better options.

The swaybar will interfere if you mount them to the front. Mount them to the rear, hard lines rout to the bracket welded to the frame as normal, soft line routing has a little bit to do with the caliper type and hose... Is this from a kit? I believe I posted pics of the softline routing on my Members Projects thread... mine was for the typical Right Stuff, Dr diff, PST single piston kit.

Page 6 at bottom shows pics of soft line routing...

My kit came with shorter hoses for rear mounting... this was done automatically because I chose a kit for a 69 with sway bar.

Dr. Diff, Inline tube, Right Stuff Detailing all will have the correct hoses (not to mention you can buy them at NAPA if you know the length).

11" Hemi Drums. Good modulation, stopping power. Who do you know that makes more than three high-speed stops in a row to heat them up?

I used brake lines from a late 70's early 80's R body car, I referenced St. Regis at the Napa counter. if needed I could dig up the part #
