Front Floor

I want to move the auto shifter from the colum to the floor. Can someone tell how far from the fire wall do I measure to put the hole for the shifter? How far are the brackets from the fire wall/etc and any other information you think I could use will help.

If its a aftermarket cable operated shifter your installing,doesnt matter as long as it can be reached with ease.

What car would this be for? On 71-74 Cars like the Charger/Roadrunner/Satellite/GTX/sebring/Sundance they all have a pad with punch marks already there for the screw holes where the linkage drops threw the floor drill em out mount the linkage,then just drop the shifter assembly inplace and hook it up (it will line it self up)....Here are two pic's of the 73/74 Roadrunner setup.
