Car is a 66 Coronet with factory hemi and 4 speed. We just now fired the car up after many years of sitting and everything worked as it should when it was parked. Now the fuel and water temp gauge don't function at all. We tested the internal voltage limiter and tests say its ok(get fluctuating voltage with a multimeter and test light blinks when hooked to either of the gauges).

The engine was out of the car along with gas tank, rear diff, k member and anything else you might think of. Is there something that we might have forgotten to hook back up that we are missing? Everything in the car works as it should but these two things(oh, and they were replaced with new parts).

I know new parts don't mean good parts but everything points to the voltage limiter but it checks good. We even had a couple of spares around and they tested the same. We're thinking we just missed something simple and looking for a brain jog. Thanks.

sounds like pins on circuit board are loose, or possible gas tank ground is missing...did you put grounding strap on the fuel line at the sender?

did you try grounding the wire from each sender to see if gauge moves?

Ground strap is on and I kinda "scrubbed" it in to make sure it was making good contact. Never tried a wire from the senders to ground to check for movement. Nice easy check, I'll give it a try. Thanks.
