I just purchased the RCI fuel cell mounting kit. I am kind of confused on how this thing mounts.

When the straps are flush on the top there is a HUGH gap on the bottom. Am I supposed to fill that gap with something for the cell to sit on? If so where do I get them or am I supposed to fab something myself.
Here are a few pics so you can see what I am tring to say.

I would suggest to you that you ditch the plastic tank as it will leak over time. If you want to take you chances that up to you. you will need to either cut a hole in the floor to alow the sump to be at the lowest part of the system or brace the tank up off the floor to keep it level. Your fuel pump will have to be as low as the bottom of your tank for it to properly work.:icon_rambo:

dont cut your floor. just do it like the others and put in 2" blocks under the cell. keep your fuel pump in the trunk and not under the car. #1 reason fuel pumps go bad is from corrosion and moisture. here are a few of mine for reference purposes.

Thanks for all the input on the cell. I found out why this mounting kit doesn't fit my cell. Man do I feel like an dumb A$$. I bought the wrong kit.

I may switch over to an aluminum cell one day.

i have a plastic one in my hemi belvedere a clear one. i love it. you can tell when your low on fuel. just get the cell up over 3 inches so it sits higher than the fuel pump. so it doesn't cavitate and lose prime.
