Fuel stench in garage?

Not sure about the rest of the country but a few years ago a member here found that the California swill boiled at 150*. Think about that. Engine is 180*+, radiant heat from the cooling system/exhast manifolds or headers/road temps etc is adding to the fun. I like that Vapor Trapper unit but still need to investigate more on controlling/collecting vapors. The usual spiral of vent line doesn't work to swift when it's horizontal and not vertical. Horizontal, you get liquid fuel in the bottom of the spirals after it's condensed which essentially caps off the venting properties. And Mike is right on the fuel return. Look at the oe stuff. No return line. Helps to keep the fuel in the tank cooler plus less plumbing.

Can you explain to me how the vapors are removed from the charcoal. Once they are saturated and can hold no more, what happens? OEM canisters have a purge function to desaturate the charcoal. I have e-mailed Aeromotive asking for their recommendation. I have another problem in that mounting the canister 8" above the cell means it would be on top of the deck lid!

The company I used (Shop 48) can replace the charcoal if you sent it to them. That should only happen if liquid fuel gets into the canister. I don't think you have to be 8" above, especially if you use the fuel two way check valve. There are some videos and installation on their website (shop48.co). Yes (.co) not (.com.). Dont ask me why LOL.

Just installed the Vapor Trapper on my other vehicle (75 Wagoneer) that had the charcoal can long gone. 2 Vent lines into the back cargo area attaching to a rollover valve, and then the vent line stopped under the vehicle around the rear axle. If I filled up past 3/4 tank or had some slosh from driving, the fumes were pretty bad.
Now have the Rollover Valve routing into the Trapper and then back into the same line exiting under the vehicle. Filled up the tank as test and took it for a 20 min drive. Not a whiff of fumes! A little pricey, but worth it. A second order was placed for the Charger as we build a new fuel cell. Highly recommended!
