fuel cell vs. original gas tank

The 67 R/T I recently bought was a drag car with a fuel cell. The fuel cell is gone now and there is no gas tank either. One catch though, the fuel filler door has been removed and the seam welded so nice that you'd really have to look hard to see where it used to be.

So my question is, if I put a fuel cell back in the car, how practical is it for using when just street driving? Is it a pain to fill at the gas pump other than having to open the trunk? Not a big deal if I put a gas tank back in, I would just like to hear some opinions.

I have a 15 gallon fuel cell in the spare tire well of my 67 R/T and don't mind opening the trunk to put gas. It's not a daily driver just a fair weather cruzer and goes to the track a few times a year so far. I've been thinking about adding fuel injection and would probably go back to stock tank with in tank pump at that time. But to each his own.

Nope. Everything has been removed.

I run a 20 gallon cell in the trunk of my 67 RT. The only thing I did extra was install a firewall between the trunk area and the passenger compartment. I know I can't seal it perfectly however I feel much better with that barrier installed.
