Fuel line

440 w/mechanical fuel pump. I want to run the proper fuel line. Do I need a fuel filter on this line? Both lines going into Holley have cone shape filters. Somebody said run the line @ the back of the engine then up & forward. If I do this should I run braided? I was told there is a guy in Ohio that makes a nicely done hard line. His contact info?? Run an inline filter after pump. With electric pumps before pump to keep crap out of pump. Mechanical aren't as sensitive to debris .
