I have two pressure regulators, only one is plumbed (prior race car setup with different motor) the other is not. The unused one began to leak from that little V notch where the adjusting nut is. Took the top off, diaphragm and spring look ok, so I tightened the nut all the way down thinking it might solve the problem but it still leaks. Should I just get a rebuild kit (the spring and diaphragm) or is there another way to fix this. I don't really want to spend a lot on something that is unused. Here's a pic of my setup....

I'm guessing that is a fuel rail it is attached to? If so, you can get a brass fitting to cap off the port that the regulator attaches to if you just want to remove it. Probably something like 3/8 npt.

Removing the inactive regulator from the rail would be my preferred option too. Since there is not enough clearance to twist it off, I will have to first disconnect the fuel line at the blue fitting, does one use any kind of sealant like plumber's tape on these when tightening and also when capping the port ?

Got her done, removed the unused regulator and plugged the fitting.

Well done! Question...what is the story of the car in your avatar?

Saw that car on the highway in Michigan some time ago and just had to take a photo of it. There are many like that still running down the highway.....until the body falls off
