Fuel pressure regulator

I've never had issues with a Carter 6903. 5-6psi. Easy driver.
In the not so distant past, they were all putting out 10-11 psi when new. I had 3 brand new ones rebuilt by a third party. The springs were too stiff and also the diaphrams were installed incorrectly. Not positive, but I believe I heard that Carter got the quality control issues sorted out now.

I tried a Malpassi regulator to tame a new chineseum Carter pump on my '67 440HP that would immediately flood my AFB after starting. The regulator set at 4.5 to 5 psi worked well but I had to mount it on the inner fender well and just didn't like the non-stock look. After only 2 weeks I replaced both with an EB pump made for the Mopar BB's. Works perfectly, no flooding, and without the thumping sound of the Carter.
