So the fuel pump on my Coronet, 440 engine, started leaking around the pump housing. I found the replacement, M4434 on Rock Auto but I have a question on the fuel filter. Currently there is a transparent inline filter right before the fuel pump inlet. There is no filter between the pump and the carb. Should there be two filters, one before and one after the pump, or is the one enough?

Scrap the plastic junk, and get a metal filter. It goes in the line between the pump and carb.

What he said, I bought a kit at Autozone with metal filter, clamps, and 2 short fuel line hoses.
