Fuel tank sending unti

Can someone tell me the correct position? I know, I should have payed better attention when I took it out....I think I have it right BUT I want to make sure.

Someone has to have a fuel tank out...how about this...does the float got to the front or the rear......or the sides???

Red;looking at my '64 manual.it shows the outlet tube of the gauge unit pointing up with the tank in normal position. It also shows two locating tangs;perhaps different sizes to ensure correct installation. Don't know if '63's are the same;gotta think they are. Hope this helps.

The sock is at the bottom of the tank, hope that helps.

MMMMmmm, the sock....oh yah, the part that isn't there..now where do I get one of those???
