Hey guys I just finished installing my gauge cluster and found my fusible link to be bad and it had a 25 amp fuse in it. I have now changed it out and was using a 20 amp fuse which keeps blowing but only when I give it a little gas to rev the engine. I did notice the amp gauge spike right before it blows and I think it also took out my dome light. Could this be a voltage regulator problem? Or is my fuse to small? This is a 68 bee and the spike jumps to 40 on the gauge before it pops which is just taping the gas for the most part but is can idle all day and not pop. Thanks for any help

If your ammeter went fully to the right, putting out a lot of amperage and you're blowing fuses, that's a strong indication your voltage regulator is not working correctly. I had a car that did this many years ago, it had a Lucas system (yeah, an import). The regulator was weird it would work fine and then suddenly it would go berserk. I actually melted the headlight switch and ended up replacing it with a standard household light switch.

I am going to replace it. Does anyone recommend a certain brand?
