Hey, with regards to the GTO, it's the gas! HAHA Good you had parents that could help you, and I agree HOA's are a plague on society.I'm
putting 15x7 cragers and 215/70 tires on the Cordoba for now, at least it will steer more like an original, which it had 15x6.5 and G70's. The car even has an Inverter on it, for the trailer tow PKG, and 100amp alternator, I guess for the rear window defroster, according the book.
I like that 78 pickup, and 440. Maybe Trade?

Money saver tip #1: Don't buy a specific 'engagement ring', but buy a wedding band set and give her the 'big half' as an engagement ring. It shows you are committed to getting married and it will save you a bundle in the long run. Let's face it...what happens to an engagement ring once married? It sets in a jewelry box...or gets sold (at a loss) later on.

The only way that's good advice is if she has no, and I mean not a single one, girlfriend, sister, aunt, mother, gal pal at work, or any other living female she's close to. :) That diamond solitaire is like a Hemi under the hood to women. It's the first thing any female friend is going to ask to see, and no matter what she claims, she better be able to show one off.

Forget the material value of the thing. It's a critical investment in making her happy, and the happier she is the happier you'll be. The last thing you want to hear in 4-5 years when you want to buy something is "yeah, well I wanted an engagement ring and had to do without that, you can do without this!" And when you say "But honey, remember when you said...", well, things just go down hill in a hurry from there.

I can't wait for the first person to send me money and buy something so I can get this show on the road!

I'm ready to send you a nice down payment if we can work out the costs. :)

Oh so sorry to here about your impending loses! You'll be paying for a different kind of horsepower!

Maybe times have changed? In my case it worked out well. She was still in college when I proposed. Married her in 1985 and we're still happily married today. Maybe I picked a practical girl? I will admit, her ring was a bit different...larger, centered diamond, surrounded with 3 Emerald and 3 Diamond chips.

I doubt times have changed that much. :) The moment a gal tells her friends she's engaged, the next question is gonna be "show us the ring!" It's the same thing with sending her flowers at work. Nothing seems to make women feel better than having other women feel jealous of them.

My horror story was I spent a fortune to get my wife a one carat stone engagement ring, and she came home from work three days later and she had snagged the stone on something and snapped it off! Gone! She had held onto that ring since 1982, and a couple of years ago I snuck it out of her jewelry box and had a new stone put in it for Christmas so now she can wear both rings. Sentimental and loving to be sure, but a few months later I bought my Road Runner. Was it all a plan... of course not! :)

Got engaged last weekend. Thanks to everyone who bought something from me. We put in an offer on a house as well. The offer was accepted, the house passed inspection, and now we are waiting on appraisal, survey, and the lender for final approval. Our closing is date is May 20th.

The house was built in 2007 and has a 30x40 shop with a 20x40 covered area along the front. It all sits on 13 acres with plenty of pasture for horses and a stock pond full of catfish. It leaves me with a 25 minute drive to work and a ten minute drive to the lake. I will be giving my 30 days at the shop I am currently renting the day we close and moving the operation closer to home. We are both excited to have the horses and mopars right at home. We are both very thankful that we have the opportunity to own a place like this. I will concentrate on unfinished projects while my savings recovers. Unfortunately, before I get to spend any more money on mopars, there will be a wedding to spend money on. Luckily, I don't have to worry about that for at least a year.

Thanks again for the purchases and advise everybody.
