Has anyone watched a new show on Velocity called Garage Squad? Just saw it for the first time and they were working on a 69 Charger. What a bunch of @$$ clowns. I wouldn't let those idiots change a tire on my bicycle. They half *** all the way around the car, metal in trans pan so they just throw some new clutches in And adjust the pressure screw.. sure that'll fix it, forget about all the gunk still in the valve body, pump And convertor. And to top it all off they give advice!

It is obviously scripted stuff.
I think of what assclowns the car owners are. The cars featured are often cool cars owned by clueless dorks with no skills and only two screwdrivers and a pair of pliers for tools.

show has been running for years , heather storm can come and wrench on my ride any time

The show is one of the worst. Ive seen it and mostly wont watch it anymore. Im tired of the sob stories about who cant finish there car, all fake drama. The producers must really pick and choose the easy ones were everything is just right. How about helping out a really in need person, a car guy who physically cant work on his car or a sick vet who needs assistance. There has to be thousands of cases like that out there. Actually the show makes me sick when i see some 40 year old who poor him has a car and cant get to it because of work or family obligations. Meanwhile not finishing a hobby car is his biggest problem in life. Tough ****, suck it up and wait till the time is right, how ever many years that is. Id be mortified if my wife ever wrote to that show

They just put stuff back together to get it driving.

Things that are torn apart that need properly refinished just get bolted back together, missing the opportunity to do it right.

The work they do is horrendous, a bandaid at best. Gunked up motor with sludge coming from the oil pan, a set of valve cover gaskets and plug wires is their fix.

How can you say that? You don't know what goes on behind the camera or what winds up on the cutting room floor. What makes you so sure, your just mouthing off. Don't be so analytical and jump to conclusions!

Well maybe but i had two blonds in my life and both tormented me and one i married. I just hope she doesnt see this. Black hair or brunette for me in the next life. LOL

My wife knows i frequent this site she may even have a ghost account here, if I said anything other than brunette that might have been the last time you guys hear from me

...because you can see the dirty and/or rusted parts back together when the vehicle is "finished" and during the process.

you guys are pretty harsh. the point of the show is to help out someone real fast to get there ride back on the road.they do it in one week, in there garage.seems like they deliver what they say they are gonna deliver.no one is claiming a full resto in a week.just a road ready piece.

Agreed, never watched a whole episode but it didn't take long to pick up on the halfass approach.

Agreed But most of us cringe at the things they let slide making it almost unbearable to watch, just not my cup of tea.

Tough crowd
I wonder what kind of work some of the people do on there own stuff ?

It's all scripted for TV
Joe one of the mechanics is a real Mopar guy...
Bruno isn't a hack either, he has several real fast racecars,
6 second 1/4 mile cars & 8 sec. Stock cars, he's a true car guy,
second generation car guy, his dad was an automotive inventor...

Heather Storm is the 2nd babe they had...
There was another mousy blonde/light brown haired lady,
before I can't remember her name...

I'm sure the producers are crying budget $$$ stuff...
It's not a documentary, it's a freaken' car show,
at-least it was not another Mustang or Camaro, like they usually do...

It's not a total restoration, they try to do most of them on a budget
it is a premise of getting an old car back out on the road again,
not spending months on a rebuild,
it was a hind sight better than when they began with...
1/2 assed or not...

I critique the **** out of GYC too, so I guess it's just the thing to do...

That's an old episode too 2015 IIRC, they also did a 72 Challenger
& a 69 Super Bee, that was all messed up by the owners...

My garage squad is working pretty well ( if you ask me ) . . . that's me, alone, working on this project a little at a time, learning this stuff as I go along . . . and fixing the stuff that I messed up the first go-round . . . so far the thing is coming together pretty nicely . . . hopefully one day I'll actually be able to drive this thing . . . ( oh well - one day at a time )

So the show is mostly about Chebby and Ferd owners?
