Gear drive, ughhhh!!

I still haven't got around to changing the gear drive out, been raining too much and today I had to get the VIN Verification done at the Highway Patrol. The inspecting officer loved hearing it, couldn't stop saying how he loves them.

was he in the 50 up demographic ? always loved the sound back in the 80's, now I think it would be annoying after a while

I like the sound of a gear drive.......... On someone else's car.

Got the gear drive out and something is not right here.

Before I touched anything, I got #1 to tdc, and the moved the crank to align with the timing tab (0). Tire it down and when I installed the timing chain/gears, this is what I got. Crank is at 0 with the dot at 12 and the the cam is showing 12 instead of 6.

I did not take the distributor out. So wtf is going on? Is this ready to fire off for #1?

The engine is so much quieter and I can actually hear the exhaust. Sounds really nice. Anyone want a noisy gear drive.........super cheap!
