Anyone installed a gear vendors unit in a 71 roadrunner? Did you have to cut the floor?

gv

Give them a call and ask them, they have knowledgeable people working on the tech line. On the '70 they told me that I would either have to hammer out two quarter-sized spots on the floor pan or scallop the bottom of the bolt holes in the transmission cross member to avoid having to dimple the tunnel. I can't imagine the 71 would be much different.

i am saving money for a GV setup for my car, planning to buy in the fall. I'll let you know how the install goes.

it not what they say it is not a tunnel dent and rounding out holes.install in my duster was more than dent here lower there.

I have the exact same question, any update on how a gear vendors' setup installs into a 71 roadrunner? Factory 3-speed auto 727.

Installed a gear Vendors setup in my 71 bird. Took a little adjustment with a 3 lbs. Hammer and a 2x4 mostly in the end part of the tunnel. Just make sure the wiring is secure and out of the way of the exhaust

Well.....A DUSTER is a smaller car with a smaller transmission tunnel.
