Before you start changing stuff, do this first - Do a few WOT runs in a place that is safe to observe the rpm shift for both 1-2 and 2-3 shift points. Do it a couple times, then shorten the throttle pressure rod one or two revolutions and repeat. Sometimes one upshift rpm will be okay, and the other one will not.Dealing with one small issue, getting it to shift cleanly at WOT. I have an auto CRT valve body and 5600 governor and I think they are giving me too much pressure raising my shift point beyond my cams power band. So I'm going to swap in a stocker governor and see if it helps.
When I've fine tuned the auto upshift, it usually takes two actions: 1) correct governor weight and spring to get 2-3 shift right, and then 2) change the 1-2 shift valve spring.
If they both shift too high (or low) make adjustments to the inner governor weight or spring
