10" diameter can.....an Elvis can actually. Top of it still looks good but the bottom is pretty nasty so going to stick on a thin wood base to the bottom of it. I can knock some of the scale off of it but there won't be any sanding since the original bottom is barely hanging on.

Sikaflex offers a number of sealant/
adhesive alternatives.
I bonded aluminum plates to a Jeep
body years ago. Still rock solid.

I believe it's their 221 stuff. The same
stuff for panel bonds used
commercialy on TMC's RTS
motorcoach.

Not here to fight with ya....
Been around a while.

The first thing I tried on the Jeep
was fiberglass resin. It popped off
the first time I closed the doors....
The father-in-law also used it on his
GMC truck bed. After running thru
a heavy rain, almost all of the stuff
applied came off.

Fiberglass won't stick to the rust and
won't stop further corrosion.
Polyester resin is the usual polymer, but if you want superior adhesion, something that will sink in and grab hold of the base metal, you'll want to use epoxy resin. It costs more but has less odor, less shrinkage, and much better bonding strength.

Gorilla Glue - works on pretty much anything ...including hair.

This thing has some perforations in the bottom of the can so the resin might have something to grab ahold of.....? :D

Golf Club (assembly/repair) epoxy is a great all purpose 2 part epoxy
they even make 5 min (van) epoxy, better work quick
works well on glue together, wood to metal surfaces too

As Pop used to say about anything like that: "E-poxy it!" :)
(You have to pronounce it just like that too - heavy emphasis on the "e" part).
