Agree on the strip calk stays soft so you can pull it loose 50 year from now. That is what was used 50 year ago on it.

hahahahaha, so true! I am even worse, my car never even sees a hose, all hand washed here!!!!Who are we kidding? The only water 99.9% of our cars will ever see is from the end of a hose in the driveway.

I am with you,the last car a 74 Duster never seen a hose,the buyer thought i was full of **** lol.true tho. PS i found the caulking rope.For the major wash, I typically dust the car, go over with quick detail and a microfiber towel, the use a wet microfiber sponge wipe down and then dry with a chamois.
