Hi Guys, On my 67 Coronet 500 318ci. I have Goodyear heater hoses and I've noticed they get all sticky and gooey, like oil has been sprayed on them. I wipe them off and in a few days they do it again. I use 50/50 antifreeze. Thanks, Dave

Hmmmm, I wonder if it's a component of the polymer coming out of the material when the hose gets hot. Interesting. You might want to try different hose.

Ya might want to change them out, or you could wait until after one of them steam cleans your engine compartment.

They made in the U.S.? All the hose I have that's made in China is junk after about a year or so....damn crap.

I bought all my hoses from NAPA and my heater hoses do the same thing. Sittin' cold they get that layer of yuck and you can wipe it off and it comes back. I don't notice it so much in the warmer weather. Good question.

Yep, That's exactly what mine do. I'm gonna see what Advanced Auto has to offer.

Not sure what the answer is here, but NAPA hoses are made by Gates, and the OP has Goodyear hoses. So, we have two brands of hose doing the same thing. ???

Some hose states where it is made and some don't but the reel or carton it came in should list it. If it's American made, they need to get their act together....but I'm sick of paying inflated prices for junk from that.......well, place.

I got the Superbird clone out yesterday... first time since October...... anyway... when I was going over my pre flight checklist, I removed the air cleaner to check the carb and the breather hose was exactly as you described. The hose is a old peice of 5/8 heater hose ..... very slick!

Godspeed,
JON

Could it have anything to do with the type of coolant used?
I don't think so unless the coolant is seeping through the hose. The 'vinyl' trim on the center of the steering wheel in my 97 2500 does the same thing....sticky goo but it doesn't wipe off. I hate it.

Are you sure you should be talking about the sticky goo on your steering wheel in a public forum?:sign19::pink banana:

Started up the Coronet today and let it run for about half hour and the hoses dried right up and seemed, they are stamped made in the USA. Now I'd like to ask a favor of some 67 Coronet owner. When I got the car the headliner was already in it minus the dome light. Will some kind soul go out and measure from the inside side of the rear view mirror to where the mount is for the dome light? I get 18 3/4 inches. I think I can feel the mount holes, but just want to be sure. Thanks loads, Dave

The dome is mounted to the roof support beam.....I have a 4 dr I could measure but no matter what that is, the beam is going to dictate the location. What you need to do is find the center of the beam where the screw holes would be.
