I was inside the car wash and an old fool in a truck was rolling through in drive instead of nuetral and ran right in to me. Busted both tail light housings.

Oh man , that sucks! I like your vanity plates but that is a shame. I hope the old coot has insurance! :(

Day-dreaming idiots....everywhere.

I hope someone can help you out with replacements @Paul_G

A trailer hitch helped me a few times! It sticks out just enough to prevent damage like yours. And adds a little weight in the rear for more traction. Just my experience.

That really sucks. Make the f*cker pay for originals NOS. Maybe next time he'll get his head out of ***,

I'm sure everyone can guess what I'm thinking!! Sorry to see and hear, for starters.

This is the perfect time to install a nice set of 71 Charger R/T taillights on their dime!

I would never take my charger to a car wash. My luck, one of those big spinning brushes would come apart and tare up my vinyl top or Crack the windshield. I wash my vehicles by hand. Especially if I just had my charger restored.
But that's just me.

Don't want to add to your loss, but your bumper is bent too. Could be the camera angle, but the first photo seems to show the bottom bar pushed in.

Lemee guess, he said "it's just an old car"......

Had a insurance adjuster tell me that when his client backed into my Spitfire. I told him the only "bonnet" available was in England and in small claims, he would pay for the part and shipping. He cut a check.

This one is done as a "muscle rat" Completely restored except, original paint just polished out, cleared over bare metal. So it can go places I would never had taken any of my other cars.

I have another left side tail light that is in great shape, just needs reconditioning. The right side I can not find at any price right now. And his insurance, State Farm is paying the bill.

Man, I had my Charger out the other night.
Me and my wife were coming from the ice cream stand. I was sitting at a light, heard tires screeching, looked in the mirror.
A PRIUS was heading for me with all 4 wheels locked and turning sideways.
Luckily it stopped in time.

When I saw the title of the thread and then 'general' I was hoping it wasn't something for the Blue Room lol

That's of our worst fears.
Once I was in a jack in the crack drive thru and someone in a old Jeep Wagoneer was at the window in neutral and was at a high idle....like a 40mph idle...so I backed nearly 2 car lengths away from it before someone boxed me in . Sure enough, it got me anyways but at least she had enough sense to nail the brake almost in time. My hand was already on the horn and blew it when I saw the reverse lights come on. Bent my bumper and dinged the hood on my 66 Mustang Fastback. Was not a happy camper but it did break me from going into a drive thru with something I didn't want messed up.

Sorry to hear this happened. I'm also hoping your bumper brackets aren't messed up as well or even worse that it tweak where it mounts into the unibody.

State farm, better just pony up the retainer now for a lawyer.
My dad worked in the finance side of hospitals. He had 2 car accident patients each with a overnight and some care, both had State farm insurance. State farm argued with themselves on who was at fault all the while ignoring the bill.
They totalled my truck before they got to the damage their client caused, said the truck was worth nothing as preexisting damage had already consumed the value they offered $150 and demanded a salvage certificate or the truck. Truck still ran and drove with a dent in the door.
Adjuster claimed he was doing his best to save the company money. That was 1992, vowed I will never be a State farm customer, still not. Guess he saved them lots of my money in 30 years.
Get a lawyer, I hate lawyers, but this is why they exist. State farm is nobody to play with, like trying to get money from the government.
Sorry about your car.

Rear ended is an appropriate title. This is going to hurt. If you left any marks on him I hope there were no witnesses.

Had a couple close calls in my Plymouth with dimwits tailgating. Installed LED lights and so far...so good. Seems for some reason people like to tailgate when I'm in my old ride...grrrr
Hope you get this worked out to your COMPLETE satisfaction.

So true, and when you slow down and wave em back, they flip you the bird... Just waiting for one to get a bit pushy, with Mr. Kimber riding with me...
