Got rear ended

That sucks sorry to see & hear...

PITA now to find lenses etc.,
even if his (should, If he has any) or your insurance covers the cost

hopefully, it won't be too much of a PITA

good luck

I got rear ended an hour ago. Sitting at a red light and a train goes by. Put it in park, shut it off and wait. Train finally goes by and I'm waiting for the lights to cycle and give me my green. BOOM, a guy in a brand new GMC is parked against my trailer. I didn't get out and look. That trailer has seen 15 years of going to auction sales every day, it is used. I looked at his license number in the mirror, just in case. Hope it wasn't hard enough to hurt the Park Pawl.

While I was enlisted I had to take Defensive Driving classes every few months because I had a Military Drivers License. When I drive, my head swivels and I think, "Everyone is trying to hit me".

Thats because they are.... How dare you expect them to drive when they have important texting to do..... lOL

Used to do driver safety training for some captive accounts I serviced. Some of these companies had outrageous accident rates HVAC, landscape contractors, and other T&P people driving for company biz. I developed an approach focusing on the consequences of all the crazy **** that happens with various video clips and testimonials from people causing or injured in accidents. This included aggressive driving, road rage, and the use of devices taking one’s attention away from driving. Back when I was no saint and more lucky than anything skill-wise, and shared some of those stories. As well, some would share theirs.

There were some tragic stories: One was a truck driver who decided to run a yellow light in his truck. He didn’t catch that the yellow was stale and sped up to clear the intersection. The speed limit was 55MPH, he sped up and a sedan entered the intersection. He t-boned the car killing the driver instantly. This guy was sentenced to three years in prison, serving most of it. Guilt-ridden needing mental counseling. He was a good person making a terrible decision many do – except they didn’t hit the jackpot nobody wants to 'hit'. He had two little kids and his wife described bundling up the kids to go visit their dad during visiting hours. Each visit was emotional when they had to say bye to dad until the next visit. The driver he killed…he had kids too…

One more was a 21 year old gal in college. Loving sort, wouldn’t want to hurt a fly. She was busy texting and didn’t see the guy crossing the street and she ended his life. 45 year old with kids. She was an emotional wreck in court so guilt ridden. Story goes she was in a non-stop state of sobbing. Behind her in court was the family of the deceased looking for justice. The judge was a tad emotional; but sentenced her to a year in jail; she could have received ten. This one struck me having two daughters around her age that I’d find would text & drive on occasion. I shared this story with them.
I’d end saying none of us think we could kill someone or think of being sentenced to prison. It’s a matter of luck being good or bad. We don't have to drive far to see someone making bad decisions; keep making them and the odds of bad luck increase.

To this day I watch front wheels to gauge where people are turning, try to never drive next to another vehicle, check my rear mirror every five seconds and the whole leave yourself an out practice.

Regarding my post #25, had some fun with the intro’s. I’d ask “How many of you believe you’re driving skills are better than the average?” Most of the time ALL or 90% of hands would pop up. Then I’d ask “How many of you think I’m going to give you tips on safe driving you don’t already know?” Most or all would raise their hands. I’d say “Yep, thought so; that’s why I’m going to talk about what we don’t hear much about in the news…what consequences people just like us can suffer if we make a choice to ignore what we know.” I learned a lot some of which was scary with civil and criminal liability.

Next time you’re at a light, do you look again at cross traffic before you take off on your green light? Riding with my daughter, I took notice that when she had her green light…she didn’t check cross traffic before taking off. And I had a close call years ago at a 4-way stop out in the country. Damn glad I looked again as a tanker semi didn’t see the stop sign and hit the brakes; but too late. He was about to jack-knife though saw I stayed put and coasted through...coasted? Ahh at like 40MPH.

I would never take my charger to a car wash. My luck, one of those big spinning brushes would come apart and tare up my vinyl top or Crack the windshield. I wash my vehicles by hand. Especially if I just had my charger restored.
But that's just me.
I agree. This sucks for you, Paul but why would you trust your car to a mechanical car wash ?

Just like Divorce court, women get off easier than men do... I bet she still texts and drives.... They can't stop.......

Lol, Have you seen my car? It is my daily driver. I even let people draw on it.

IMO still a classic and deserves better than a mechanical wash. Nice car by the way.

My pal Rick has a set. Not new, removed from a wreck at the yard. Good shape except he says some mounting points my need work. No idea what he wants for them. He's had them for years. He has a 73 SE. Let me know if ur interested and i'll put you two together.

I've become so damned paranoid about all the illegals and other uninsured morons out there, they seem to think my Ram is invisible! I've got to the point where when I take the Coronet or the Imperial out for a drive, I'm exhausted from the experience! Legions of stupid, inattentive people playing with the devices that are in new vehicles, or blinding chatting or texting. Hell, I've seen cops doing this ****! Yeah, I've heard they have "special training" to do that. Seriously???
