Hi,

I´m Markus from Blackforest located in the southwest of Germany near the Swiss/France border. I got to know about your great site  in the moparforum.eu

I had my first look onto a mopar muscle in the late nineties and some visits of german mopar meeting (Moparshop) followed. I finally found my mopar in winter 2007/2008 and bought it about half a year later for getting it trough technical inspection (TUEV) and license plates. Since then I do all whats neccesary to keep it on the road.
cheers

Markus

Nice car! I love the color. Welcome to our site!

Welcome and Great car!

I was stationed in Germany in 73 and 74 in the northwest area of the country. I used to go to Bremerhaven on my days off to the US base there. That was where the US solders picked their cars up being shipped to and from the us. I owned a 68 Roadrunner at the time but didn't bring it over. I do vividly remember seeing a lime green Superbird there that a GI had sent over.

I always wondered if he had a chance to exercise it on the Autobahn!

Welome!! It must be soooooooooo cool to be cruzin' aroud the black forest in a great 68 charger!!

LOL, No doubt there Hemi-itis. No doubt.

Welcome aboard! There is a few of your coutrymen on this board.

Welcome Markus - beautiful Charger!

I guess you can sort of say "ich komme aus den wild". Nice car and welcome aboard.

Thank you all for your welcome!

In most areas the speed limit on the Autobahn is about 80mls and in a lot of areas there are sharp bends up the hill and down the valley. So he might really need his Bird´s wing back in the days on the Autobahn... the reactions of german volks seeing the Bird passing by in these days must have been something like: :icon_eek: :confused2: :eusa_naughty: `Look! An UFO! But it seems that it can´t fly!`
Driving above 150mls sometimes feels more like a Achterbahn (rollercoaster) ride... never run my charger this fast.

Yes it is hemi-itis, but most time of the year you go on here like this :snow plow: ...though it is an all time MI car I´m sure it won´t `survive`snow, ice & salt a second time. ;)

:icon_thumleft:Hey meep, that´s pretty good! You´d better say "aus dem Wald" the other translation means something like: ´I´m comming wild out of the wood´ :icon_biggrin:

Have a good time!

Haha! My Russian is much better than my German, but I'll say with a 68 Charger R/T you ARE coming out of the woods wild!!

Cool! Spent some time in the Blackforest but spent time running all over Germany in 71-72. Speed limits on the 'bahn now!!? Back then, it was expensive to register a car and buy insurance. Dang insurance cost more than the car did! A buddy and I bought a 66 Opel Record together and had a good time. He wasn't a car freak but I was and found this Opel with the 1.9 engine, bucket seats and 4 on the floor instead of on the column and it was a 4 door no less lol. If it wasn't for our gas rations, there would have been no way we could afford to drive around. We were stationed at Hahn AFB in the Hunsruck mountain range just off of 327. Beautiful country but best part were the roads all along the Mosel and the autobahn lol. Welcome to the site!

Nice to have a new member aboard. Welcome. Very nice wheels you have. Like the color of your car.

Since a few years insurance and tax for a historic vehicle is equal to around 500- 600$ a year. To get the historic plates it has to be at least 30 yrs old and in original condition or original like restored.
Have a look on my brothers `68 Opel Rekord C Coupe 1.7 with 4 Speed Manual, will actually be redone with a 2.0 OHV and Solex double carbs... that will sound pretty good for a 4banger:

...sorry for off topic, but I like the car and it´s shape. My brother is going to primer it orange for the next years, maybe he´ll put an 01 on it... :icon_mrgreen:

Markus, Wekommen mein herrn! I was a US Soldier in Germany for 5 yrs; 1990-95, I was living in 3 places there; I started in Stuttgart, then Heidelberg, then Augsburg. I never saw any German Mopar fans, but, I was when I was over there. I had a 1989 Dodge Daytona Shelby, also known as a Chrysler Daytona 2.2l turbo. It had 174ps, which at the time seemed like a lot, but now, seems really low.

Your car is very good looking! It is very clean and you have kept it in good condition! I also had a ZZR1100 when I was in Germany, and I loved A7 up in Regensburg area, I could really open it up and carry a lot of speed!

I very much like to see my German friends and their MOPARs! Please keep posting and TschuB!

great looking ride, i love the color also.
