halo headlights in 69 charger

so I have wired the halos into my side markers which turns on with the park lamps.
69 Chargers don't have side markers that light, they're reflectors. Did you modify them with 70 Charger wiring?

Here's this one.

so basically your saying send power to the park lights when open to trick the switch and use air and open the doors?

i have a 70 that im putting hid's in with red led halos, I ordered them from oracle lighting which is supposed to have a lifetime warranty on the balasts and no trimming or modifications just bolt right in, of course I don't have vaccum operated door issue being mine are electric, just going to wire it up so the doors are on a separate switch

should note that it was pretty pricey "$600" for all 4 but I like the lifetime warranty on the balasts, seen too many cheapo's go bad

I dont have any factory wiring as i changed it all to painless mopar 21 circuit harness. So i do have wires for side markers. But im not using them anyways cause i welded up the side markers for a cleaner look. So i used
the side marker wires for the halos

ya I checked them they are very cool, up in Canada they cost more. Worse I have to change is the bulbs no balasts needed

Interesting question. Sorry, I do not have an answer but another question:
Where did you get the headlights? Are they HID or LED type? Do you know the current draw? In simple terms, do they pull more power than the stock headlights do?
I'd love to find some way to use the HID headlights from a car like my 2015 Challenger.

Don't know what experience Jason got with the octanes but I got mine from oracle lighting in Louisana. Oraclelights.com is the link. or Toll Free @ (800) 407-5776. They are more pricey then the octane but the results in my opinion are better. they're about $75-$85 per light(depending if on sale). you then have to buy the HID lights kit also. here's a pic of mine with just the halos on. I have the HID bulbs 8000k which is white with a very slight touch of blue.

Reviving an old ish thread here, but what you want to do with the headlight doors opening with parking lights is impossible unless you go to electric operated doors and wire the two together, or *maybe* somehow modify the vacuum switch (which is attached to, but completely separate from the headlight switch), which I don't really see happening. Electric actuated doors would be the easiest way to go.

Not true, vacuum operated solenoids off of a Ford truck (used to engage the 4 wheel drive) will do the trick. Just did a thread that would do the trick for you, use Ford vacuum solenoids using the parking light wiring as the trigger to a relay...... all done. Already did it to mine but mine runs off of the headlights using diodes to prevent backfeed, cleans up the hoses and also let's you run a more readily available headlight switch as well.

This is how it's wired for my situation where I only want them open when the headlights are on. For your application ditch the diodes and simply tie your running lights in instead. The other thing you'll need is a wire that is only live when the ignition switch is on supplying the operating volts otherwise the normally closed terminal will keep the down coil energized even when the car is off. Very simple job!
