Reminds me of Cumberland Md's Pub Crawl "Hooley" they have there each year. Shut the whole town down and bar hop all day. Music and plenty of beer. Bands at every bar. And the Lassies!

The Irish were having trouble fitting in after emigration here so they migrated to the mountain areas and set up their own societies. My ancestral family was one of them. As you experienced the music and even instruments mirror this.

The Irish side of the tree got crushed early in life by the German side. The preferred beer here is a Phelsnier. Nothing wrong with an occasional Ginness when one can be found. Listen to some Irish music last night and got the report from granddaughter of pinching everyone not wearing green. One sourdough or potatoes this year. Hopefully next.
