Hello everyone thanks for the add to the group. My Name is Matt and I am the owner of "Daisy" my 69 Charger R/T. I have had the Car for about 7 years now, I purchased it at 19 as my first car. Had to save all my nickels and dimes for my entire youth to be able to buy it. I unknowingly bought the car from the dealer HLPAG now known as Truemusclecars, at the time I did not know forums like this existed, so I did not know the reputation of the shop. With that being said I saw the car in person before I purchased it with my father, we looked over the car inside and out from everything we could see the car was solid. I think I lucked out because it was a car he had not started to "Restore" if the story he told me was true (which who knows) he had just purchased the car to start restoration on, I told him I didn't want him to touch it.
I got the Car as a project for me and my Dad to work on (my father always wanted a project car but just never had the money to get one). We got to do quite a bit of work done on the car before my dad was tragically killed in a crash on his way home from work. I have since done a good amount of work on the suspension, breaks and engine both on my own and with two of my dads old friends who do classic car restorations. Any problems that have come up with the car I knew about before purchase so I think I honestly just lucked out after reading about some people who have been completely screwed by him. Regardless I'm now looking to have the car taken to a shop to get a real restoration completed. It has a 400 big block (obviously not original) 727 transmission (automatic) and an 8 3/4 rear end. My plan is to turn it into a street fighter, 512 stoker though 440 source, upgraded suspension (thinking HOTCHKIS) , disk break conversion all around(Baer), might upgrade to the Dana 60 and probably going to go with a TTI exhaust system. I also think I might add a six pack hood scoop I love how mean they look. I am still new to this so trying to learn as much as I can unfortunately I have reached about the peak of what I can do to my car and I also live on the other side of he country right now from where I store the car (in the military). Anyways thanks for stopping by to read my post look forward to learning from yall.
P.S. is it possible to Supercharge a 400 big block stroked to 512? looking at a roots style love the look and sound of the things and hoping if I go with the six pack hood and a small enough setup ill have the clearance to get it under the hood. feel free to tell me if I'm living in a dream
