I go in knowing what they are & if you want quality buy IR pneumatic tools and 10x the cost....HF 3 in cut off wheel has been great lasting 5 years...HF mini saw sucked, air hammer quit after 2 yrs, paint guns are excellent value. Electric tools I will buy name brand though.
What have you really lost unless it's doa... disposable tools IMO.

When you can measure it's life in minutes you certainly have something to bitch about lol.

My dad would buy HF stuff and I inherited some of them. Yeah, these are light-duty use and sometimes throw away after one use for the price. Still there have been a few surprises. Ya can complete some home projects with them and don't count on earning a living using them..

I have a few Harbor Freight electrical tools/ I used the miter saw with a 10" diameter cut-off wheel to cut all my chrome moly for the cage. a 90 degree electric (120 plug -in) grinder, and a electric shear. All still function fine. Some of the hand tools are pretty decent , some not. pretty easy to see just by looking. For sure its a low cost. My son has their 1/2 air impact which has been great. I've failed Many 90 degree air grinders and air ratchets, all brands.

I must have got lucky I've had a die grinder and angle grinder for 5 years now and still going! I do oil them before every use with marvel air tool oil. Also have a 170 amp mig welder I've used many hours and tanks of 75/25 and still going. I'm not impressed by their welding gloves grey ones fall apart quick.

My rule of thumb is harbor freight is only good for tools with no moving parts. I do however have the 1/4 inch 90 die grinder and it’s goong on 3 year a now I’ve used probably 50 or so times but a few of those times was cutting my truck bed bolts and doing rust removal on the frame so I’d say it’s earned it’s 12.99 keep haha my only complaint is the damn thing has no torque whAt so ever and and stops spinning mid cut all the time.

I think weve become so use to crap tools, we forgot what good tools are all about. The collision frame shop i had my car in last year, the owner had some air tools he bought in his thirties and he is 71 now. They worked perfectly and were all top notch and powerful. This is not a at home or part time mechanic. This was a guy who ran a shop and still does doing frame repair and straightening on cars and light duty trucks. He used those tools every day year after year. Try that with HF or some of the other garbage out there today

I bought they’re cheap heat gun and it did the job, I get there work rolling stools and work gloves mainly.

Most HF tools are Chinese ****, Maybe Ok for occasional use. The big problem is lack of quality control in their Asian factories. HF is good for Gloves ,Dog beds and Free stuff.
Just Sayin ! Almost forgot to mention that Lovely Chinese Rubber smell when you enter the store,You can even taste it too !

I bought a needle scaler to take old under coating off a 47 Buick I was working on ! Worked great for about 5 mins ! After some mods it finished the job ! I won't bother with there air tools anymore ! The grinders if it's for bs work where I might loose a tool (job site ) the cheap ones are great ! The good ones stay in the shop !

What I hate the most about HF is the check out line. One register open, and they want to collect every email address and phone number they can get. I quit going there a long time ago.

Thinking about looking in HF for a floor jack. Not the cheapest, one around $120ish.

Online, looked over reviews from various sites. Some say total junk, some say good enough and lasted years. (Second one was here!) wtf. Or, was that from 20 years ago.

I wouldn't buy anything from HF that could cause bodily injury, and a floor jack would imo.

Oh that's a huge pet peeve of mine, that nasty Chinese rubber... can't count the tires that won't hold air!! Man do I hate that smell!

Yeap, dad brought one over to knock some rust off of an I beam, literally lasted 10 minutes. I ended up doing away with the trigger to keep it running so now you plug it in and go.
