I just recently had a 12×36 put up for our Tritoon, having seen a few installed previously I chose to put in my anchoring.. in Ohio they stake them to the ground with rebar. Being 36' long I drilled 3' deep holes every 6', poured them full with concrete then anchored treated 6×6's to the tops. When they showed up all they had to do was lag bolt it down and erect it. I didn't pay for any add ons just reinforced what I felt it needed when they were done.
I like the treated lumber approach, keeps the steel up off of the damp ground and gives you a nice 6" tall boundary to keep the gravel inside and out of the yard.
