Have you ever seen this on factory wheels??

Have you seen these green stripes on the inside of your wheels? These are the original Rallye wheels to my 73 that were removed in the 80’s for a set of cragar SST’s. I’m guessing there is a reason why they have this stripe or band on them. Any ideas??

I cannot say that I have ever seen that stripe but my guess would be is that its is to allow quick and easy identification during production.

I've seen plenty of wheels with the stripe... No idea why...

Seen this many times, appears that:

14x5.5 rallies have blue stripes
14x6 rallies have green stripes
Small bolt rallies have yellow stripes

15's are no stripe

14x5.5 rallies have blue stripes

Small bolt rallies have yellow stripes

15's are no stripe

Makes for easy ID during production on the line then.
