I have a hardwired system (not wireless) in my home and need some technical help.

The system is 15 years old , has a Honeywell Keypad and contacts on all the doors and windows.

My keypad shows no display but the armed and ready lights are lit. I've replaced the battery, checked the small fuse and the transformer feels warm to the touch.

It hasn't worked in a while..been so long I don't even recall the passcode. Getting ready to sell the house and would like to have it operational...Thanks.

Just hang a pistol by the keypad.. Kidding, do you have any info on the model number for the keypad?

This one is 34.00 on ebay.

Power down and restart the main panel. If that doesn’t work you’ll likely need a new keypad.

I do a few alarm installs here, but I stick to the same brand by a locally manufactured product with full backup and a team available for troubleshooting. Easy installs, and I do a lot of add-ons for customers.

Sounds like your keypad is toast. Replace with the same brand & model, and you should be good to go.
Same as Post #6....power down first ( battery & mains) do the change, then power up again.

Thanks for relies...ordered a new keypad will be here next week. Will post results.

Just a follow up....the keypad apparently was bad.

Found one on Amazon, replaced it along with the backup battery.

Took a little research, thinking and messing with to finally get it to operate. If you replace one (the keypad) and it has a Vista ___ control panel you must change the keypads default address (which is 31) to the Vista panel address (which is 16).

The only thing that doesn't seem to work is the display window has no backlight (and really don't know if there is one). Internet search has not shown up anything one way or another...the keys do have a backlight.

Again, what to thank everyone who posted replies and possible "fixes".

thank you for the follow-up,people tend to ask and never let us know what the did to fix their problem. Glad it worked out.

Good news that you have it fixed up now.

The battery typically will be good for a max of 5 years .....I know others will say longer, but after the 5 years, they drop in capacity, and a load test will show problems. It's a good number to remember also.
