On B440. I am in the process of cleaning the block for a dingle ball rebuild with new cam/Lifters/pushrods/cam bearings/main and rod bearings/rear seal/gasket set and timing set. Pistons/bores/heads are being left alone except possibly valve seals. My intention is to be able to drive the car on and off my lift so as to attend to other projects and not having to round up help every time I want to work on a different project. The question, are there any head bolts that encroach into the water jackets? If not, great. If there are how do you address the threads. I've looked through the FSM and a couple other books and see no mention but could have swore I heard there were in the past.

There are no headbolts that encroach a water jacket on a big block mopar. I use ARP moly for torquing headbolts.

Too bad you are going to do all that stuff and just use a drill/ball hone type of setup when the piston/ring seal is the most critical part of a rebuild.Wait until you have the time to do it properly.

If there is less than .003 taper in the bores, why spend the money to bore, hone and for pistons?

Like I said, I just need the car mobil for now. There isn't going to be any machine work done for now to it but the cam and its bearings are toast. The crank and bores look pretty good. Junkyard engine....
