Looking for some input on if it's a good idea to double the gaskets on headers? I heard that it can help create a better seal to the head and the exhaust pipe? Or do they make a thicker gasket? Let me know, thanks.

You must first start with dead flat flanges and if you do use only one gasket. I would not run two gaskets for a couple of reasons. First, the extra thickness of the soft material will be prone to blowing out and second, it will be easier to warp the flanges because you are tightening against softer material. On my old Mustang I didn't even run gaskets. Just a bead of the orange high temp RTV on the head flange and collector and that was good for 50 K plus miles of daily use.

as meep meep said, flat flanges is the key to a good seal.i use a metal strait edge and a good file on the headder flange to make it so.dont use an electric grinder, small flick of the wrist and the headders a done.

I just got my REMLEX gaskets last week...WOW they are nice, I am sure they will seal quite well. Great service and shipping was super fast...gezz the way I promote them I should work there LOL.

I've used Remflex for about five years now,I've never had to tighten them and never had any leaks. The first set lasted until this past Dec and the only reason I changed them is because I pulled the heads.
