As some of the regulars might know, I was hunting headers for my -65 Belvedere.
Now the headers are installed and ready to go.

I used Hedman Headers -67 and up, for A Bodies (Valiants, Darts).
The only modifications I did, was that I put in new motormounts, and put ½" of flat iron under the motormounts.
So I raised the engine about ½", that was it.
And I almost forgot, had to make a cut in the right header to clear the oil filter housing, as seen in pic one.

I have 904 Automatic tranny, and column shift.
273 Power Plant, and Power Steering.
No clearance probs what so ever, just hangs a bit low under the car.
In other wise, fits like a glove!

So, if You´re in the market for headers, and don´t want to pay for TTI´s, this is the answer right here.

Here are some crappy pics.

You should recheck your differential pinion angle after raising the eng. How did you find out the A-body headers would work ? Ron

I stuck an A body passenger side header on my 79 Dodge pickup. Had one laying around and the one on my truck got messed up so I tried it. Had to grind about .050 off the frame because one tube was rubbing but other than that, it fit well.

Actually I found that my enginemounts were´nt original.
My were about ½" thick, and the new ones about 2".
So, with the new mounts in place, the headers cleared just fine, raised the engine an additional 1/4" just to be safe, and the angles are all fine.

Got this tip from a buddy of mine, who has had a couple of -65 Belvederes, and he told me to try it.
So I did, worked like a charm!
