headers, worth it?

I've always liked the way headers make the exhaust sound a little fuller and meaner as opposed to cast manifolds. You can usually tell when a car goes by that it has it has decent set of headers and exhaust system, especially at low RPM. I've eventually gone to headers sooner or later on every old car I've ever owned.

Me too Moparsmitty, car is already quite "lumpy" and loud when you have your foot in it but I have always liked the sound of headers as well.

I had to scrape up and save up to get mine...to the tune of $1,058 for ceramic coated, polished Tti headers, so from my perspective, a definite YES!

If you don't mind the stock headers, then you can stick with them and be done with it.

In my case, if I'm spending all this time mini-tubbing the rear wheel wells, rolling the wheel lips, moving the springs, adding frame connectors, a 5.7L Hemi and a 6-speed - then stock headers are NOT going to do it for me !

Besides, the stock headers make really good boat anchors if you need one . . . ( smile )
