Just painted '72 SSP and I have not re-installed any of the glass yet (I removed all of it: windshield, side windows, backlight). I would like to postpone working on the interior, but I thought I read somewhere that for certain models it is recommended to replace the headliner before replacing the glass. Is that true for the 71-74 B bodies? Thank you.

I just put in 2 headliners, not the same year as yours, but I was very thankful there was no glass in the car. I spent some time sitting on the speaker shelf pulling on the headliner. I love those cars in that color! I seen one once with orange seats!

Save yourself a bunch of headaches.... install the headliner before windshield and backlight.20141127_083529.jpg20141128_160515.jpg

Also , another little tip.
install the visor, dome light, coat hook, ect , screws in their holes leaving them just a few threads out from flush.

after the liner is in and tight, its easy to locate them and each exact spot the hole goes for them.

allways get the C pillars straight and correct 1st before gluing the rest.

This advice is money in the bank.

Also, have a hair drier handy.

Yeah - you're going to be happy you have the windows out while you're installing the headliner. Why complicate life when you're in the perfect position to do it now.

I put the headliner in my 74 Roadrunner with the glass in and had no problems. I think it's the 70 and older cars that have the glass issues.

Just make sure you use the two hooks on the back edge that connect the last bow to the backlight frame.

Much easier with the glass out, though it can be done with it in by someone who knows what they're doing. The only Mopar 'muscle car' that NEEDS to have the glass out is an A Body
