Headman Headers - Geezes.

Another opinion to add to the mix. I sold my TTIs because of poor plug clearance and I got tired of replacing burned silicone boots, even after "clearancing" a few of the tubes. I tried 'socks', MSD boots, Moroso boots, Taylor boots, Accel ceramic boots (90s, 45s and straights, none cleared. They either hit the tubes or hit the shock towers). Granted, these were an older set and still in great condition due to their 3/8" flanges and 14 or 16 gauge construction. I purchased a set of Doug's ceramic coated headers and they fit like a glove with much better plug clearance. BTW, it's been over 4,000 miles and no burned boots! I highly recommend them. Although it wasn't a consideration for me (fit and clearance to plugs were most important to me), the lesser price might be for some...

What was the part number for the doug's you bought? I didn't see any for early Bs.

I run TTIs on every thing but my 64 with a 440. The TTIs are OK, but I have built a jig to crimp a dent here and there for clearance. That way they don't look like some pilgrim hammer fitted them. My 64 has headman's and all was nice on them. I'm running eddy heads and they fit fine. But 64s have a different K member. You might want to check part #s just to make sure you got what you wanted.

How are the TTI's and the dougs 452's with a 4 speed in a 68/69 coronet?

I have Hooker Super Comps on both my Charger & my Challenger. My other Hemi they bolted right up but did have to ding the #1 Header tube to clear the power steering fitting.

Currently, I did have to cut up & modify the #1 header tube on my Hemi Headers for my 70' Challenger on a different set due to the RMS K frame & rack though. it was not a big deal all of the other tubes fit fine. We even used them as my Dyno headers. I didn't care about the ceramic coating which did not even blister or peel after 19 hits on the Dyno. They are painted satin black now anyway in the car for that more correct "OEM look" anyway. LOL.

Next set for this car will be some big tube custom made headers but from now on any other street or strip car I will be using TTI after all the postiive feedback I always read.

Thanks. No problem squeezing 2" pipes in there? I thought I'd have to go with the 1-3/4" tubes because of my power steering box.

No. I have power steering as well. Make sure your motor and transmission mounts are new, or you may have clearance problems on the passenger side shock tower. I made up some 1/4" thick aluminum spacers to use under the mounts to raise everything up a little more, but that may just be my car.
All the plugs come out easily from the top and #6 from underneath. I love these headers. No more burned boots! Hooray!

I'm leaning towards removing the hp manifolds and selling them, replacing them with a set of dougs. I don't like the manifolds on that car as much as i did initially. I may wait until i swap the heads to aluminum though.
